I could not put this book down. Every time I told myself that I would stop at the next chapter , I would hurry along to start the next one. Well written, believable characters and a fast paced story line. I highly recommend this book. Great read!
Mitch Tanner, a homicide detective in Philadelphia, is estranged from his wife, Robbie. Their child, Ella Kate, is a precocious 6 1/2 year old.
A murder investigation turns into a "missing" suspect. And, this is where this story has the first twist.
Follow that up with an abduction of two children from a local school and the plot thickens. Beans's family has just inherited a lot of money so that may be the motive for his abduction. But, what is the reason for the kidnappers taking the little girl?
All sorts of twists and turns in this new series. Just when the reader thinks you have it all figured out, another surprise!
I enjoyed all of the intrigue this story had to offer and this series is off to an excellent start.
Highly recommended.
Love Mr. Ryan's books but this one had me at the first chapter. I read a lot but the only thing I could say at the end was," WOW, this was an awesome book". Followed by, when is the next Tanner book.

Wow! This was a great book. About a pair of detectives trying to find out the cause of a woman’s death. While investigating, lots of unexpected things happen. Keeps these guys and the FBI hopping. Great bantor, character development. Plot is fantastic! Suspenseful, thrilling and making you want to read another of this authors’ books.
couldn't wait to read this and was not disappointed, L.T. does it again, action packed and on the move from page 1..Made sure I had time to read all in one sitting because as usual it was a could not put down. Good twist in the who was involved and a teaser at the end for what is to come, we can always rely on Mr. Ryan to provide us with a great book. Mitch Tanner looks to be another must follow character, the book has a good assortment of characters as well as the "ones you love to hate", a little bit of romance thrown in and a whole lot of where is this clue going to take him, if you like (actually love) a good story with mystery, action and a little bit of family thrown in this book is a must read...can't wait for the next Mitch Tanner book. Thanks for the great read L.T.
A new series with new characters and setting. I've read other books by this author - all very good or excellent - and this one looks like the start of another. Fast-paced, interesting characters, good plot. Stayed up half the night and finished it in one reading. There are some areas such as character development that could be improved, which I'm sure will happen as the series grows. Book two is next up when I have another night for a marathon reading session.
I read a wide variety of ebooks, from both well known and indie authors, in almost every genre (other than romance), and this is as good a read as anything I have read lately.
This book presents a new character (Mitch Tanner) that I look forward to reading more about. The story line has some interesting twists that you don't see coming (and a couple you do) that made it suspenseful and kept my interest. Generally speaking, I am tired of the "flawed cop" books, but this one was different enough to hold my attention and the characters were someone you were interested in.
For the first book in a series, the characters were well developed, and not one dimensional, like they are in many books. Generally it seems like it takes 2-3 books in order for the characters to come to life and have depth to them, but this time, the characters seem real in the 1st book.
This is a very easy to read book in that the author does not try to describe every detail of the scene (I know what a blue sky with clouds looks like, no need to take up a paragraph to describe it), nor does he feel the need to use words that have you using the dictionary constantly just to determine what he is trying to say.
If you want an easy to read, light, suspense novel, this is one you want.
If you are on the fence, give this one a try, you won't be disappointed.
